Life, faith, repentance and wisdom are all gifts that our loving God gives us to enable us to navigate life’s journey in this world thrown into chaos by sin and sorrow. God gives us a measure of these gifts each day.
Typically, how does God measure things out? Is He stingy? Nature teaches us of bounty. One mature pecan tree can produce hundreds of pounds of pecans. Giant Live Oak trees cover large areas of ground beneath them with acorns. One corn seed definitely produces more than one kernel of corn on the plant that sprouted and grew from the seed. Wouldn’t God give faith in abundance as well? You know, give us more than we need for each day?
We cannot take credit for faith, repentance or good works. We can, however, accept what our Father provides and rejoice in it. These are gifts of grace. Our acceptance of them enables the Holy Spirit to baptize our life with great blessings as we travel along on our way to Christ’s eternal kingdom. I can hardly wait to get there! How about you?
