Lord, I have nothing deep or profound to say,
But I sure do admire Your fingerprints in this world.
It is awesome to look at where You have led my life,
And look forward to enjoying more similar experiences.
You are immortal—something I can’t wrap my mind around.
You are all powerful—something I fear I might abuse.
You know everything—each day’s a surprise for me.
You are strong and Almighty—I am weak and timid.
I’m so glad to have You, a standard to measure life with.
I’m thankful for those times of close communion,
They carry me through days of simply trudging through.
I’m happy to be me and not You because I rather like adoring You.
Why are You my pride and joy?
Why are You my focus?
Why are You my life and breath?
Why are You my Lord?
Because You know me best and love me anyway!
Because You formed me tenderly even before Mom held me!
Because You carry me today and still hold me close!
Because You are my life-giver, the sustainer of my days!
If I can bring a spark of joy, then light a fire in me.
If I should pray for a soul in need, then give me words to say.
If I can have a positive influence, then Holy Spirit fill me.
If I make a difference, then may I deflect all praise to You!
Thank You, Lord, for this time together.
Thank You for this Sabbath, day of rest.
Thank You for John 17 and the assurance it brings.
Thank You for a bright future of closeness with You.
Your will, Father, always be done by me—
And I know it happens only by Your grace!
